NIHR PRINCIPLE Study: How you can support
Pharmacist colleagues in all care settings throughout the UK are playing a vital and important role in supporting communities throughout this pandemic. They are also helping to promote, support, and identify eligible volunteers to the PRINCIPLE Trial, the UK’s national priority public health trial of COVID-19 treatments for recovery within a home setting and to help reduce the need for hospital admission.
It is well known that nursing and care home residents are one of the groups that are particularly and often adversely affected by COVID-19. On behalf of the team at PRINCIPLE, I would like to especially to reach out to all pharmacists and staff working in nursing and care home settings to kindly help encourage and support those who may be eligible and tested positive presenting with Covid-19 symptoms to come forward to take part in the trial.
A current and latest poster (attached) for your kind attention to help advertise the study throughout all nursing and care homes in helping to raise awareness among carers as well as residents and their families where possible.
In addition, pharmacists who may be working across different and multiple health and care settings can greatly help promote and share details of the trial through their wider networks to support recruitment.
Should anyone require more information regarding particularly pharmacy involvement and support please do not hesitate to contact me through the PRINCIPLE team:

Thank you all for your valuable and much appreciated support.
