Health Innovation West Midlands invites you to join our regional Medicines and the Environment Network meeting.
The network has been developed to bring together Healthcare professionals across all sectors located in the West Midlands. Medicines have a significant impact on the environment, contributing to 25% of the NHS carbon footprint alongside contributing to environmental pollution, this group focuses on sharing best practice and learning to reduce this impact.

Navigating the Innovation Landscape in Medicines and NHS Net Zero: Guest speaker from Health Innovation West Midlands
The West Midlands Medicines and the Environment Network will:
- provide a supportive environment to hear from and connect with other likeminded professionals from across the West Midlands to discuss medicines related environmental sustainability topics
- provide a virtual platform for collaboration; to share challenges, successes, and resources to help contribute to NHS Net Zero Targets and improve the environmental impact of medicines use
This event is for NHS staff who want to improve the impact medicines use has on the environment.
Who should attend?
NHS Healthcare professionals within the West Midlands with an interest in improving medicines impact on the environment.

- Trust and ICB Sustainability teams
- General Practice team members
- ICB Medicines Management teams
- Pharmacy team members
We would welcome representation from across the many specialist areas in order to share best practice for example: general practice, respiratory, stores, procurement, aseptic services, surgery and theatres.
