NHSX and NHSE see digital solutions as critical to the restoration of outpatient and elective care, as well as dealing with the tremendous backlog of referrals and patients awaiting treatment. The scheme, commissioned by Health Education England as part of its Digital Readiness programme and supported by NHSX, is a highly focused development pathway for digital, data and technology graduates to become the next NHS middle managers and beyond, with 99% of current participants tracking toward Band 6/7. It has now expanded to every region in England and recruited talented graduates/post-graduates for more than 20 trusts and health care providers.
